Saying I spent a lot of time on my computer is an understatement. I also forget to take breaks and stretch so naturally my wrist and some times my entire arm up to my neck get really stiff and achy. A simple solution for all this was to get a mouse wrist rest. But why buy when you can easily make one?!

So here’s what you need:

  • Rice
  • Fabric (1/2 a yard is more than enough)
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors
  • Needle & thread or Sewing machine (not pictured)
  • Funnel  (not pictured)

Measure two rectangles 6×9 inches and cut.

Place fabric pieces right sides together and stitch around leaving a 1 inch gap. Turn inside out and press.

Use the funnel to fill up the pouch with rice. DO NOT overfill! I learned that the hard way so you don’t have to! Take the pouch back to the sewing machine and stitch a straight stitch all around. Take it slow and move the rice out of the needle’s way as much as possible.

And that’s it! Enjoy your new mouse wrist rest! See ya later carpal tunnel!
