I’m back this week with another Valentine’s Day tutorial! I’ll show you how to make a love poem stenciled shirt. queen-lila-love-poem-shirt

For this project you will need:

  • Fabric marker
  • T-shirt (or any other garment you like, really)
  • Newspaper or Scrap paper
  • Plastic alphabet stencil (I got mine here)
  • Bulldog clips(optional)

1.Add some newspaper inside the shirt so the paint doesn’t bleed to the back layer of the shirt.

2.Clip the shirt to your cutting mat or other flat surface.Queen Lila DIY love poem shirt (3)

3.Start stenciling your love poem on the shirt. I used: How Do I Love Thee? (Sonnet 43) by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Didn’t really use the whole poem but this is the beauty of this project, it’s very forgiving!

4.When you’re happy with your stencil, iron the shirt to set the paint.
